Got an OWWIE!!

I'm going to be off work for the rest of the week (at least). I've ruptured my gastrocnemius muscle in my calf. It's been playing up for over a month, felt a bit like cramp, but today, it actually ruptured whilst I was at the school frantically looking for Bec.

I can't put any weight on it, I'm on anti inflammatorys and strong painkillers, sigh ...

Bec forgot that I was picking her up today so went a different way out of school, I waited for a while thinking she was dawdling as usual (you know what 10 year olds are like...) but then walked up to the school to find out what was wrong. The teacher told me that she had already gone which threw me into a total panic. Apparently she thought that my mother was picking her up and asked the school secretary to phone to find out if she'd forgotten. She was waiting in the office the whole time. Meanwhile, I'd walked back to the car park (I park it in our office car park - we have one right by the school) and asked John if he'd seen her. No. He started to get his team together to start looking for her, but then my mother drove up and explained what had happened. I flew up the lane (this is why I meet her halfway) and the next thing I was rolling around the floor in agony ...

A trip to the doctors has now put me flat out until it heals. Chances are it's going to be every colour of the blooming rainbow tomorrow, sigh ....

Well I'm off to rest it, I shouldn't be sitting up as it is.

(And yes, it is as painful as it sounds, sigh ....)
